Srinagar, Sep 22 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief, Tariq Hamid Karra on Monday alleged that security or a vehicle was not provided during the visit of AICC General Secretary and party in charge for J&K, Dr. Syed Nasir Hussain. J&K Congress, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that the protocols were violated, demanding action against officials responsible for the ‘security lapse’. “It is for the first time that an MP of such stature was not provided a vehicle. A single PSO was sent to the airport without even ensuring which vehicle he would sit in,” Karra told reporters here in Srinagar at party headquarters. He said the party would raise the issue with both the Government of India and the J&K administration. “There is a dual control system in J&K and nobody knows who is responsible for what. The people who are responsible for providing security and protocol totally failed this time,” Karra said. Karra during the presser said that their party office discussed the issue with the officer incharge, stating that the officer was on record to say that they don’t provide sitting vehicles to MPs. Accusing the government of giving special treatment to BJP leaders, Karra added, “I do not want to count those MPs and non-MPs belonging to the BJP who receive special treatment from the government. For us this is a major cause of concern,” he added—(KNO)
